Creative textile printing

This is a fun and relaxed workshop to explore the world of simple printing techniques with a focus on creating a finished textile piece that can be made into a project of your choice. Depending on your final design this could be anything from a notebook cover or lampshde to gadget case or cushion cover.

We explore a variety of simple techniques including making our own block stamps, mono printing using resists and mark making, colograph printing and the fun of the rolling pin!

We will also consider what makes a good design, how to transfer this for printing and how a printed image can be used in isolation or how to work it into a pattern repeat. A selection of resources will be available for you to reference for design inspiration but we suggest that you also give thought to collecting a variety images that inspire you in the run up to the workshops.

This workshop will help you explore a variety of ways to decorate fabric using low tech effective methods that allow you to continue creating your own designs at home. The same methods can be used for creating your own personliased stationary and cards.

We need a minimum of three people to run this workshop.

People do cancel and we do hold waiting lists. If the date you would like is full please do contact us and we can add you to the list.

This workshop is being led by Sarah.
