Dressmaking with jersey
Knits/Jerseys are wonderful fabric and we all have so much of it in our wardrobes. During this workshop you get to grips with the techniques for working with this lovely fabric on a normal sewing machine, including how to work out the stretch in your fabric and how to work with a twin needle.
Working from a Simplicity New Look pattern there will be the choice to make a crew neck t shirt or vest top. The dressmaking pattern is provided and included within the cost of the workshop and detailed advice will be provided on your purchase of fabric.
Based on a fabric width of 150cm you need 1m of fabric for the vest top or 1.25m of farbic for the t shirt.
It is assumed that you will have some basic knowledge of dressmaking. This workshop will teach you how to work with knits/jerseys and little time will be spent on understanding dressmaking patterns.
This workshop is being led by Jackie.
