Dorset buttons have been around since the 1600's but fell in popularity following the invention of button making machines. In our quest to personalise there has been a revival in their popularity and this is a great chance to learn he basics and how to invent your own.
You will begin making a simple Dorset cross wheel button. This is the easiest and most popular style and from there you will learn a variety of stitch techniques which will enable you to help invent your own. Dorset buttons can add a special unique finish to a project and can even be turned into jewellery.
