Spend a day with us creating a cute little village of advent pocket houses, festively themed or maybe not.
If you enjoy tinkering and relaxing, playing with fabric, this is the workshop for you. Create little houses using calico and a variety of other fabrics. Fabrics can be festively themed or it can look just as great as a stash busitng project. We'll help you scale the project so that your little pocket houses are as big, or as small, as your traditions dictate. Maybe you'll be making them to gift away to a neice, nephew, grandchild or godchild.
The houses look great hung as bunting, pegged to other festive decs (depending on how early they go up in your house) or, my personal favourite, hung from a piece of driftwood so that they gather together as a little village. Don't do advent? Made from non festive fabrics they make a lovely year long decoration and could easily add a little bit of magic to the long school holidays.
We're going to supply you with all your calico fabric fronts and lots of trims inc; ribbons, lace etc, plus embroidery thread, bondaweb and anything from our scraps basket. All you need to bring along is the equivalent of two fat quarters (or more if you decide to scale up). For our finished size you will need two rectangles approx 3" x 5" for each house.
You will need:
min to the equivalent of 2 Fat quarters/ 0.5m of fabric depending on scale.
Scraps for your windows and doors
Cotton to match.
The workshop is led by Sarah.
During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
