A bargello quilt is a made from lots of strips of fabric that are sewn together is such a way as to create the illusion of movement. (They are also know as optical illusion quilts). Bargello patterns can look complicated but they are actually easier than you think. Basically if you can sew a straight line you can do this.
During this workshop you will learn the techniques for the classic bargello pattern but there are many to choose from once you've mastered the know how.
Fabric requirements are:
1 jelly roll of 40 2.5” strips - preferably, don’t know how to phrase this, a good quality one from Moda or similar good manufacturer...
1.3 m each of 2 accent fabrics, plain or textured plain at the dark end of the colour spectrum of the jelly roll.
1 reel 100% cotton thread
Quilt rulers and rotary cutters will be provided, please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We will be following a pattern called High Seas at Hastings designed by Pam & Nicky Lintott and you will go home with your own copy sot hat you can make the design again and again.
The workshop is led by Tanya.
During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
