Exploring textiles summer school 20/21/22 August 2019

Enjoy an exciting 3 consecutive days learning new textiles techniques and having time to experiment in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Explore the visual elements of line, tone, shape, colour, texture, pattern and form to create surface texture. Learn new techniques and experiment with basic stitch, monoprinting, paper & fabric collage, wax resist and creative weaving.

There will be a wide range of exciting materials provided, including fabric, threads, raffia, wire, beads, shiny foils, copper shim, textural paper and paint. You may like to bring some of your own materials too, to give it that extra personal touch. Start saving your old clothing and fabric to cut into strips and recycle for the experimental weaving!

You will be shown the work of other textiles artists to help inspire you on your textural journey.

This will be a fun and informal atmosphere suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to anyone who would like to develop their knowledge of textiles techniques.

Children age 11 and upwards are welcome with an accompanying adult.

Please bring an apron and you may like to bring an A4 wire bound sketchbook (all media cartridge paper) to use in these sessions to display your work but this is no essential.

This workshop will be led by Sarah H

During all of our workshops photos are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
