General Workshop Questions.
How many students are there in a workshop?
We try to keep the sessions small and friendly. For most workshops we take no more than 8 students, often there are less. Some workshops such as blind and curtain making run with much smaller groups. Children's workshops should have no more than 8 and all tutors hold valid DBS checks.
What age range are the workshops for?
The general workshops are for adults of all ages and teenagers are welcome to attend where the tutor holds a DBS check, unless accompnied by an adult. There are workshops specifically for children ages 8yrs + during the school holidays.
Can I just turn up on the day?
No, booking is essential. However, if you contact us in advance we can send you details of last-minute availability or you can email the day before the workshop to see if we have space.
Where are the Workshops held?
Our workshops are held at our Garden Studio in Hassocks. Full details of our location can be found here.
How do I book a workshop?
Simply browse through our workshop calendar or the workshop section of our website. Please note that bookings are not confirmed until full payment is received, either payment online or by post, and you will receive a confirmation email in return.
Do I HAVE to book online?
Yes. Our online system manages our class sizes and is therefore our preferred booking procedure. Payment does not have to be made online. If, however, you are experiencing any issues with our website we will be happy to deal with your enquiry by phone or email.
What do I need to bring?
When booking the workshop on the website the workshop listing will explain what materials you need to bring and this will also be confirmed within an email sent out approximately 1 to 2 weeks before your workshop. Some courses may have all materials supplied, but you are still welcome to bring along your own if you like.
Light refreshments are provided during the workshops.
Can I buy a gift voucher for your workshops?
Vouchers can be purchased online and are easy to redeem. We don't believe in expiry dates and so all gift vouchers purchased for gifts do not run out. Vouchers can not be redeemed for cash.
I would like to do a workshop but I can't see it listed or an appropriate date?
We are always working on our schedule and our workshops are constantly evolving. Please contact us if there is something that you would like to learn and we'll see what we can do. We are always keen to hear about new subjects/projects you would like included.
Refunds and Cancellations - What if I need to cancel?
Please do check your diary carefully. You have the right to cancel your booking within 7 days of your order. If you find that you are unable to attend your booking after this time, we are only able to offer a refund or transfer to another session if we have a clear 10 days notice prior to your workshop date. We are more than happy if you wish to find your own replacement. You will just need to notify us of their name, contact number and email address in advance of the course so that we can update our records.
Can I bring my sewing machine?
Yes of course. We find that people generally achieve more and are happier using a machine that they are familiar with.
Our right to cancel the workshop.
In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled we'll attempt to give you as much notice as possible to the email address that you have registered with us. We'll happily refund your booking fee or transfer you to a workshop of the same price, space permitting. Unfortunately we can not accept responsibility for travel and other costs.
