Filet crochet

In this "Filet crochet" workshop Eleonora (aka Coastal Crochet) will be teaching the basics of filet crochet which is a technique that can be used in a variety of ways to create many designs and patterns from household textiles such as table runners, decorative edgings and wall hangings to shawls and clothing. Eleonora will show how designs can be created on paper and then transferred in to the filet crochetand will encourage you to create your own individual designs. During the workshop you will create your own unique wall hanging and leave with a greater knowledge and confidence in using this technique.

This workshop is suitable for advanced beginners. You will need a basic understanding of crochet and be able to do chains and treble stitches. Cotton works best for filet crochet and you can use fine thread cottons with a small 1 or 2mm hook or thicker cottons in 4ply or DK weight with a 3 or 4mm hook. Please bring your own choice of yarn and hooks to the workshop, why not bring a variety of yarns to experiment with different sizes and results!
