We love a jelly roll, a versatile roll of approx 42 strips that you can sew and cut and create any number of different patterns from. We love them so much that we've decided to open our doors for a special Studio day. We want to sit and sew our own so we are inviting you to come and join us for the day. Nothing beats sewing in company and being inspired by seeing others sewing around you.
Its a Studio Day so there's no tuition, this is a chance to come and use our space, with just a £10 charge for the whole day towards the refresments. We'll be sewing alongside you so we will be on hand to offer a little guidance and support should you need it.
Should you need some jelly roll inspriation then please check out our pinterest board here.
Not sure where to buy a jelly roll? Well they are rolls of 2.5" strips and usually contain approx 42. Be careful when shopping as mini rolls are now freely avaialble with only approx 20 strips. They can be found at any good patchwork shop or we've found a couple of good starting points on line;
The Sewing Studio
Wool warehouse (yes really!)
We will also be displaying our Royal Quilt that the Made and Making community had made for the imminent arrival due to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Doors will be open to the public from 1-4 should you wish to come and look but can't take part in the whole day.
The Jelly Roll Studio Day will start at 9:30 and finish at 4pm and all we ask is that you pay £10 towards the cost of refreshments.
You will need to bring your own jelly roll and other fabric supplies dependant upon your chosen project. We'll supply simple sewing kits, rotary cutters and boards, even a machine if you need one. Plus there will be lots of tea, coffe and biscuits but don't forget a packed lunch, or you may like to take advange of the lovely on site cafe.
During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
