Make for Charity

Would you like to join Made and Making making for charity?.

Every month we run a charity days with sewing sessions in the morning and knitting sessions in the afternoon.

Over recent years we have helped local hospices, cancer patients and helped dress little girls around the world.

This is a great way to do something to help someone. There’s no money involved, just a little time.

Sewing sessions are held on Monday mornings. Whilst it is possible to just turn up we do offering a booking system for anyone making a special trip to see us to ensure we can guarantee a machine.  Sessions are free and you do not need to bring anyyhing with you.

Knitting sessions on the same Monday in the afternoon between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. These are drop in sessions and if you can bring your own size 3.75mm needles that would be really helpful. We will have a small supply avaialable for use.

Come along to one of our Charity making days...

These sessions are held at The Studio, Heritage Barn, South Downs Nurseries, Brighton Road, Hassocks, BN6 9LY.

We finish each project with a tag saying that you made it and hopefully a little message from you too.

Machines and materials are supplied on the day together with tea, coffee and biscuits to keep the energy levels high and the machines busy.  (If you do have any spare fabrics or yarn from a stash at home that you are prepared to donate please do bring that along too, it will be very welcome. The more cheerful the better).

If you can’t come along on the day but would like to get involved you can use the links below to download instructions to complete the project at home at a time to suit you. Maybe you are part of a group who might like to get involved or perhaps you are looking for a charitable activity to get involved with at work? The more the merrier.

Patterns and instructions are now available to download by clicking on the hospice you would like to support below.
