If you are aleady familiar with the basics of handmade reycled papermaking, come and explore further terxtural possibilities and have fun developing ideas. There will be a demonstration to remind you of the papermaking process, using the pouring method.

You will then be shown how to expand scale to create patchwork paper; explore line to create textural paper stripes and also how to emboss textured pattern with printing blocks. Or you can simply experiment further with surface texture, by adding inclusions to your fresh handmade paper.

You may want to make a stand alone piece or create a series of experiments for use in mixed media collage, card making, gift tags, bookmarks etc.

All materials will be provided. Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add in to your paper to create exciting textural surfaces. You may also want to bring some of your own inclusions, as well as additional scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations.

There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including work of other papermaking artists.

This workshop will be led by Sarah H
