This is an ideal follow on workshop for those who have some experience in lino printing or who have completed our introduction to lino session and would like to develop their skills.
In this 2 day workshop you will create multi-colour prints using the reduction method of printmaking.
Reduction lino cutting is a relief printmaking technique which involves cutting and printing several layers of colour from the same block of lino in order to build up an image. You will be destroying the block in the process . You will be using water based inks and soft cut vinyl lino which is easy to clean, cut and print from allowing you to make an expressive print.
All printmaking tools, materials and equipment are provided.
You may wish to give some thought to your design prior to the workshop. Please bring a picture you find inspiring or a small image you would like to produce as a lino cut (about 21cm x 15cm). We will be working on an A5 or A6 sized piece of lino. You may wish to bring a sketchbook or other reference materials you would like to work from.
This workshop is run by local artist Sue Collins.
During all of our workshops photographs are taken for promotional purposes only. Please make us aware at the time of booking if you would prefer not to be included.
